Find out if you are a suitable candidate for this programme, including qualifications you need and the time and computer requirements. Image Qualifications A medical degree (MBChB) or its international equivalent is usually required. We also encourage applications from applicants who are in a profession allied to medicine, or who have relevant work experience in a clinical context, as we appreciate that family medicine is a team-based speciality and in some situations is delivered entirely by allied health professionals. Any applicant will need to have demonstrated a certain level of academic achievement in their field. A Master of Nursing, for example, would easily qualify. Another key component of the application is the ability to demonstrate clinical experience in a primary care setting. Applicants should include a strong personal statement in their application, outlining why they are interested in family medicine and what their career plans are. This is particularly important if you don't have extensive experience in a primary health care setting, as you will need to justify your inclusion in the programme. English language requirements All applicants must be able to meet the minimum English language standards that are set out by the University. This is due to the complex language used and the fast nature of the programme. We want all our students to get the most out of the programme and graduate successfully.
